These distribution boards are used in the same instances as the Surface mounted boards mentioned earlier. The only difference is, as the name states, only the surface fascia of the board will be visible when it’s installed, as the rest of it will be “Flushed” or sunked into the mounting surface.
Wall mounting distribution boards are mainly used for, as its description indicates, the distribution of electricity from the taken from the main source [or main panel], throughout the required establishment. The term “Row type” signifies the fact the fact that the Board is divided in to several to give an orderly mounting of the Electrical units, while the term “surface” adheres to the fact that the complete board is visible on the mounting surface.
As indicated in the name, these are single use enclosures of both Surface and Flush type, which are used to house single, isolated electrical units such as Isolators, Changeovers or Bus Bar arrangements, as per the electrification requirement.
Free standing Electrical panels are used for Heavy duty electrification requirements such as Main distribution panels, Automatic Transfer Switch Panels [ATS], Capacitor Banks, etc. The main differing point which upgrades a wall mounted panel to a free standing panel is the electrical amperage handled by that panel. In standard terms, any panel above 400A is designed as Free standing Panels.
